By Jerry Jensen
The girl’s hockey team started off the season well with a win at home against Totino Grace on November 16 with a score of 5-2. At the end of the first period Anoka was up 3-2, and they scored another point in both 2nd and 3rd periods. Although Anoka won, it was a tough game.
“It was hard, we won by the score we wanted to, but they (Totino Grace) put up a fight,” said Madilyn Myers, Captain of the Girl’s Hockey team. “There were lots of penalties,” 10 throughout the whole game.
“We were OK for the first game; lots of room for improvement, which is good. We got the win though, which is what’s important,” said Coach Hayes.
The Girls Hockey team’s next game is away at Andover on Saturday at 3:00. Keep up the hard work, Girl’s Hockey Team!
