Boys’ soccer pushes on to the state tournament
By Melissa Jensen
On October 29, 2010 the student body and faculty rallied in the field house for the Anoka High School boys’ soccer team after the boys clinched the win against Duluth East.
Coming out of a thrilling 1-0 victory against Duluth East in overtime, the team is pushing ahead looking to duplicate the state banner that the 2007 boys’ team brought to Anoka. Tonight, the
team will take on the Stillwater Ponies at Cottage Grove in hopes of continuing their play in the state tournament.
Head coach Mr. Hayes encourages Anoka fans to travel the distance to Cottage Grove to cheer on the Tornadoes and hopefully help the boys pull out another victory. If the Tornadoes win tonight, their next game will be on Tuesday, November 2nd during the school day. Good Luck Tornadoes!
