Varsity volleyball trumps Andover
By Sarah Yang
After a night of hard core tug-of-war, the varsity girls volleyball team trumped Andover, winning three out of five games.
Coaches Mr. Fenwick and Mrs. Duft paced sidelines all night long as Andover’s dogged defense blocked spike after spike. Andover kept Anoka on their toes with quick, misleading passes.
“The passing was really rough…They were shutting us down for a moment there…But I’m really proud of my girls because we pulled through,” says Mikayla Gallagher, 12.
Neck-to-neck in almost each game, enduring the taunts from Andover’s supporters, the real “A” team eventually pulled through.
Anoka’s varsity girls volleyball team will be playing again at 7:00PM this coming Tuesday, October 5th.
