Anoka Girls Soccer Defeat Maple Grove Crimson

The Anoka Girls Soccer team was cheered on by the fans and Anoka Cheerleaders last night in a tough game against Maple Grove. The Tornadoes defeated Maple Grove 2-1 in overtime.

In the first 5 minutes of the game Jessica Bowe, 12, scored the first goal. Anoka attempted another goal but it was deflected by the Maple Grove goalie.

The score remained 1-0 for the rest of the first half.  Maple Grove scored a goal with 25 minutes left in the second half sending the game into overtime.

With 3 minutes and 30 seconds left in overtime captain Shauna Rodman, 12, made a goal winning the game for the Tornadoes and sending shouts of triumph through the stands.
