After a Close meet with Osseo, Girls Swimmers Look Towards a Bright Future

The Anoka girls swimming and diving team, put a tremendous effort forth in their meet last night against Osseo. Though the final score was Osseo 101, Anoka 85 there were some stellar performances from the Anoka girls.

Kicking off the meet to a good start the 200 medley relay of Emma Youngquist(11), Alison Tonsager(12), Katie Springer(10) and Lindsey Block(11) easily took first place with a time of 2:00.82.

Senior Alison Tonsager had a great meet individually as well, taking first place spots in the 200 Individual medley and 100 butterfly with times of 2:20.18 and 1:01.84. Katie Springer claimed second and first place spots in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events, and Lindsey Block swiftly swam to a win in the 50 yard freestyle.

The Anoka divers posted a great meet as well with Nikole Michaelson(8) and Erin Clarkin(9) taking second and third place respectively.

“I know the girls will be upset about the loss, but they all had a great meet and showed some truly strong swimming tonight,” remarked Coach John Jacobson after the meet. With great performances such as the one last night, we can expect great things from the Anoka girls swimming and diving team in time to come.
